Before I started composing I’ve watched a lot of documentary’s about butterfly’s and caterpillar’s, to look how they move, how they behave… And along the way I’ve learned a lot about them. A very interesting thing about the caterpillar is that he changes form four times, so the very obvious thing to do was to write a theme for the caterpillar and make some variations. After the last transformation he makes his cocoon and then the real magic happens. Because when the cocoon opens, a butterfly appears, gently spreading his wings, softly warming his wings and then when he’s ready, he fly’s away…
